Quilters celebrate International Glamper Week
Almost 50 quilters, some with their Glampers (glamorous vintage campers), descended on Hamilton earlier in the month to celebrate International Glamper Week. Along with quilting classes, the group enjoyed a trunk show with Missouri Star Quilt Company's Jenny Doan and a tour of the company's warehouse.
On Saturday evening, an open house was held for the public. Admission was an item for the local food pantry and several boxes of food were gathered. Viewers voted on their favorite Glamper and the winner was Sarah Lee Wood, a rancher from Montana. Sarah received a gift of fabric and sewing supplies valued at $150.
Next month there will be three themed retreats at MSQC. Two will be "Christmas in July" retreats focused on quick and easy projects for gifts and holiday decorating. The third will feature Sizzix, a tool that uses dies to cut fabric shapes. Retreats are organized by Cindy Morris and Carolyn Peterson of Hamilton and Susan Brown from Paola, KS with Glenda Brooke as the retreat administrator.
