Kingston bridge should be opened soon
The Board of Aldermen of the City of Kidder met November 3 for their regular session. All members of the board and mayor were present along with City Clerk, Debbie Fleming and Water and Sewer Superintendent, David Bethel.
The council discussed the bridge in Kingston that is currently under construction. Asphalt has been laid and MoDOT’s official word is that the bridge should be opened by Thanksgiving. Unofficial word from construction workers is that they are shooting for the 15th but hope to have it finished by the 12th.
Bethel said that someone was interested in renting space in the salt tent to store their camper this winter. Someone else was wanting it also to store their combine. The board passed a motion to rent the space for $50 per month providing their equipment is covered by liability insurance.
It was mention that the cable in town for Internet Associates has not yet been buried. The city received a “thank you” from a customer for letting them install their antenna on the city’s water tower, adding that the service is better than not having anything at all.
Council discussed an unstable building in town and what options they could take to see that something is done.
Council discussed placing a ballot in the April election to elect a new alderman to replace the vacancy left by Karl Kresse when he passed away. They also discussed appointing someone to take the place until the election. No decision was reached at this time.
