David J. Reed

David J. Reed, age 80, of Cameron, MO, passed away on Oct. 22, 2015. He was born on Oct. 23, 1934, in Cameron to William Randall and Merle Katherine (Knoch) Reed.

David was a 1952 graduate of Cameron High School and a 1956 graduate of the University of Missouri in Agriculture. He was a veteran in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery.

David was a member of the Cameron United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Caldwell Historical Society, member of the Cameron Historical Society, board member of the Caldwell County Foundation, board member and past president of Caldwell County Farm Bureau, and supporter of the Cameron Municipal Band and Cameron FFA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Patricia.

Survivors include his son, D.J. (Tracy) Reed of Cameron; two daughters, Gina Reed of Cameron and Anne Leonardo of St. Joseph; brother, Dr. William R. (Celia) Reed of Kearney; sister, Marilyn Davis of Shawnee Mission, KS; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015, at the Cameron United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 5:30-7 p.m., prior to the service. Memorial fund donations may be made to the Stella Grinstead Nutrition Center in Cameron. Inurnment will be held at a later date in McDaniel Cemetery in Cameron.
