Carol Sue Ridings Williams

Carol Sue Ridings Williams, 86, of Kansas City (formerly of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas), passed away on May 31, 2026.  

Born February 22, 1940, in Hamilton, Missouri, she was the daughter of Marion Overton and Vivian Loraine Ridings.  She graduated from Penney High School in 1958 and attended Christian College.  Carol Sue had a long career at Kansas City Power and Light, where she met her husband, Bill Williams.  They married on August 10, 1974, and later retired to Hot Springs Village to enjoy golf, family, travel and community life.  While retired, she and her sister, Sallie, created a business making fabric napkins that have been enjoyed by many.

A dedicated volunteer, she was a 68-year member of P.E.O. and active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Presbyterian Kirk of the Pines.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Williams (January 7, 2003), her sister Sarah (Sallie) Ridings Huss, and her brother John Ridings.  She is survived by her stepchildren, Gary (Pam) Williams of Kansas City, MO, and Craig (Joni) Williams of Lee's Summit, MO; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and many generations of nieces and nephews, including Klaudia Spivey of Denver, CO, Kendall (Nancy) Henry of Lawrence, KS, Konya (Dave) Doucette of Ashburn, VA, Kristen (Jim) Vance of Elkhart, IN, Mark (Jenny) Ridings of Jacksonville, FL, Michael (Mindy) Ridings of Maryland Heights, MO, and Matthew (Erin) Ridings of Jacksonville, FL.

A Memorial Service will take place in Hamilton, MO, during the fall of 2026.  Those wishing to honor Carol Sue's memory may make tax-deductible contributions to the P.E.O. Educational Loan Fund (ELF).  Donations can be sent to Marilyn Daggert at 46 San Pablo Way, Hot Springs Village, AR, 71909.
