Carol Elizabeth Beckman

Carol Elizabeth Beckman, age 71, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 22, 2018, at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Excelsior Springs.

Carol was born Oct. 21, 1946, in Linn County, to James Leroy Howerton and Zedna Mary Washam Howerton.  She was married to Maurice Eugene Beckman in Nov. of 1973. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2007.

Carol was a 1964 high school graduate of Northwestern High School in Mendon and attended Trenton College, where she received her LPN degree. She worked at the Excelsior Springs Job Corp, later retiring as a nurse.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Earl Leroy Howerton.

Survivors include her children, Mary Bush of Polo, Trisha Marsh of Milan, Stacie Wiggans of Olathe, KS, Cliffton Beckman of Des Moines, IA, Troy Beckman of Kansas City, Tammy Beckman of Clearwater, FL, Trina Orr of Camdenton, Tonya Morgan of Maine, and Tara Beckman of Kearney; brother, Jimmy Howerton of Orlando, FL, and 23 grandchildren.

Cremation has been entrusted to Cashatt Family Funeral Home in Platte Woods.
