Deanna "Dee" Sue Adkison

Deanna "Dee" Sue Adkison age 72 of  Hamilton, MO., passed away at her home surrounded by her family on September 14, 2024.  She lived in Hamilton and the New York area almost all of her life.

Dee was born on July 17, 1952, at home in Hamilton, to G.W. and Virginia (Leedom) Hosman.  She graduated from the Penney High School, Hamilton, in 1970, and then earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in teaching and language arts from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg.  She began her teaching career in 1974 and taught school in Braymer, Breckenridge, New York and Gallatin, MO., school districts for over 20 years.  She stayed home and raised her children for 14 years which was of upmost importance to her.  

Dee loved spending time at the lake with her family, fishing, dancing, deer hunting, and traveling to Arkansas to spend time with her grandchildren.  Dee was an avid sports fan whether it be football, basketball, or baseball., she really loved watching them all.  She was a member of the Hamilton Federated Church and attended there for many years.  Her family will miss her greatly.

Preceding Dee in death were her parents, and her brother, Ronnie Hosman.

On August 9, 1985, she married James "Jim" Adkison at the Hamilton Federated Church.  He survives of the home.

Additional survivors include her children-Brittney (Gabriel) Underwood and Brian Adkison; and her 3 grandchildren-Brooks, Aiden, and Isabella.  

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Hamilton Federated Church.

Visitation from  9:30 to 11 a.m., just prior to the service, on September 20, at the church.

Interment located at The New York Cemetery, SE of Hamilton.

Friends may call at Bram Funeral Home beginning on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 11 a.m., until 5 p.m.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New York School Library Program or the school's Basketball Program in care of the funeral home.  

Arrangements are under the direction of Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, MO.
