Devona Jane Gilgour

Devona Jane Gilgour, 88, Gallatin, MO., formerly of Hamilton, MO., passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at the Daviess County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gallatin.  She had also lived in Breckenridge and Trenton, MO., in the past.

Devona was born on May 25, 1936, in Trenton, MO., to Lowell and Juanita (Newkirk) McAtee. She worked at the Stride Rite Shoe factory in Hamilton for over 25 years.  

In her spare time she loved to spoil her dogs and do embroidery work.  She was also an excellent cook especially when it came to frying potatoes and fresh fish.  

Devona married Charles Gilgour on January 17, 1953, in Breckenridge, MO.  He preceded her in death in 2009.  She was also preceded by her parents, 2 brothers-Ronald and Darrell McAtee, and her sister, Joyce Tuttle.

Survivors who will miss her dearly include her son-Delbert (Marcia) Gilgour,  Hamilton; granddaughter-Samara Gilgour, Cameron, MO.; grandson-Caleb (Jessica) Gilgour, Hamilton; 4 great-grandchildren-Ember, Alexandria, Charlie and Karter; sister-Connie (Melvin) McCloud, Trenton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Service:  2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, MO.

Visitation:  1:30 to 2:00 p.m., just prior to the service, on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the funeral home.

Interment:  Highland Cemetery, Hamilton, MO.

Friends may call at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 11 to 5 p.m.
