Elizabeth Josephine (Betty Jo) Parsons, 84, passed away from metastatic breast cancer on February 27, 2024.
Betty Jo was born on October 27, 1939, in Kansas City, MO, to Jay and Marguerite (Davis) Beach. She attended St. Louis Catholic Grade School, Bishop Hogan High, and was a 1956 graduate of Southeast High School.
Betty Jo was married to Ed Parsons in Sylmar, CA, on June 1, 1968. They, along with their six children, moved to Hamilton, MO, in 1972, where she resided until her death. Betty Jo worked at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton, as a nurse's aid, Med Tech, and dietary manager. She retired in 1999. She was a die hard Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan and was able to relish in a fourth Chiefs Super Bowl win. Betty Jo was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hamilton, and the church Altar Society.
Betty Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; brother-Gerald Beach; sisters-Catherine Beach, Rita Moylan, and Frances Ragle; and great-grandsons-Alexander Stark and Adrian Florido.
Survivors include her sister, Delores Anderson, Hamilton; brother, Mike, Kansas City; her children-Kathy Florido, Kansas City; Karyn (Don) Smith, Gallatin; Celeste Spangler, Gallatin; Ed Parsons, Cameron; Don Parsons, Cameron; and Jimmy Parsons, Albany; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a 19th due in April; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hamilton.
Visitation: 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 4, at the church until service time. The Rosary will begin at 10 a.m.
Interment: Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Catholic Charities, or St. Luke's Cancer Center in Betty's memory.
