James "Jimmy Bill" Curtis

James "Jimmy Bill" Curtis age 90 of Hamilton, passed away on September 12, 2024, in Cameron, MO.  

Jim was born on February 27, 1934, in New Hampton, to Orson and Vesta (McCrary) Curtis.  He graduated from the Penney High School, Hamilton, in 1952.  After graduation from high school, Jim worked 4 years for Hercules Corp. at Lawrence, KS.  He served his country for 2 years in the U.S. Army (17 months in Germany).  Following his military service, Jim worked for 6 years at Bendix Corp. in Kansas City and attended college taking night classes.  In 1965 he moved back to Hamilton and worked at HRH Auction Co. and Angus Farms owned by Harold  Henry until semi-retiring in 1999.  Jim still continued to work part-time farming and working in real estate sales.  

Playing cards, fishing, and following sports, especially the Hamilton Hornets and Mizzou, were things that Jim enjoyed to do in his spare time.  Jim enjoyed life every day, every hour and every minute and was blessed with a great family and good health.  

Preceding Jim in death were his parents, brother-Ed Curtis, and cousins.

Survivors who will miss him dearly are his children-Doug (Carol) Henderson, Hamilton; and Lisa Coffman, Cameron, MO.; 2 grandchildren-Kerry Dale (Heather) Evans, Kidder, MO., and Blake (Carissa) Henderson, Hamilton; great-grandchildren-Harleigh and Henley Evans and Leigha and Colt Henderson; sister-in-law-Elaine Curtis, Hamilton; 3 cousins-Dianne Brown, Dixie McCrary and Jack McCrary; nephews-Jim, Bob, Shawn and Rob; and nieces-Jill and Wendy and all of their families.

Funeral Service:  11 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the Hamilton Federated Church.

Visitation:  9:30 to 11 a.m., before service time on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the church.

Interment:  Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.

Memorial donations may be made to the Penney R-II School District sports program in care of Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.  

Friends may call at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, on Tuesday, Sept. 17 from noon until 5 p.m.
