Martha Ellen Nixon

Martha Ellen Nixon, age 62, of Hamilton, MO, passed away on Oct. 21, 2016, at the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Hamilton. She lived in Hamilton since 1985.

Martha was born on Jan. 5, 1954, in Independence, to Robert W. and Laverne (Mace) Jacob. She was a 1972 graduate of the Fayette High School. Following high school, she had worked at and attended Central Methodist University in Fayette. She became a homemaker who loved being a mother and grandmother. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed movies, especially the Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter series.

Martha was a Methodist and had been a past member of PEO, Chapter N of Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her children, Kielly (Donnie) McGinley of Polo, Branon (Tammy) Ralston of Kansas City, and Jacob Nixon of Columbia; two grandchildren, Dylan (Molly) King and Gavin Ralston; one great-grandchild, Chloe King; mother, Laverne Jacob of Hamilton; sister, Lura (David) McAllister of Jefferson City; two nephews, Eric and Ryan McAllister; and two cousins, Georgia and Barbara Baskett.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Bram Funeral Home. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kansas City Rescue Mission in care of the funeral home.
