Norma Lea Gilgour

Norma Lea Gilgour, age 84, a resident of Chillicothe, MO, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City.

Norma was born the daughter of Loren and Daisy (Watson) Morrill on Feb. 23, 1935, in Gallatin. She had five siblings. She was united in marriage to Gene “Churn” Gilgour on June 20, 1952, in Jamesport. He preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1994. Norma and Gene raised four children on the farm outside of Hamilton.

Norma owned and operated The Bridal Lane in Hamilton for over 10 years. She was a 4-H community leader and project leader for over 24 years.

Survivors include four children, Lynn Paulsen of Avoca, IA, Connie Mogg of Hamilton, Candy Vaught of Estes Park, CO, and Bret Gilgour of Gresham, OR; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Morrill of Breckenridge; one sister, Jana Potter of Molalla, OR; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Carol Rich and Billie Parks; and one brother, Rex Gilgour.

Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe on Friday, July 5, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday at noon, one hour prior to the service. Friends may call the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Hamilton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
