Rigoberto "Robert" Gomez

Rigoberto “Robert” Gomez, age 72, of Kansas City, formerly of Villanueva, Honduras, Hamilton, Salt Lake City, UT, and Oakland, CA, passed away on June 2, 2018, at the North Kansas City Hospital.

Robert was born on Sept. 29, 1945, in Villanueva, Honduras, to Jose and Efigenia Alvarado Gomez. He was a farmer and worked in residential construction. He moved to the United States in 1960 and earned his citizenship.

He was a Roman Catholic and was a member of the Carpenter and Painters Union and The Honduras Association of Coffee Growers.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

He married Judy Kuhnert on July 1, 1989, in Las Vegas, NV. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Nicole Gomez Varelas of Stockton, CA, Michele Gomez of Portland, OR, and Maritchu Clark of Los Osos, CA; two stepsons, Timothy Edwards of Anchorage, AK and William Robert Edwards of Hamilton, eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, J. Francis Gomez of Kansas City and Villanueva Honduras; sister, Sonia Gomez Bustamante of Villanueva, Honduras; one niece; one nephew, and numerous cousins.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Highland Cemetery in Hamilton. A visitation will be held from noon until the service time at Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the Midwest Transplant Network or to the family.
