Rita Faye Chadwick, 101, Hamilton, MO., passed away peacefully at her home on February 26, 2024.

Rita was born on August 15, 1922, in Cameron, MO., to Lee and Mary Amanda (Potts) Curp. Rita attended St. Rita's Catholic School in Cameron, Harrison County School in Hamilton, and was a 1940 graduate of Hamilton High School. Upon graduation she worked for attorney O.J. Adams, for the U.S. Government during World War II in the rations office, and as a secretary in the Agriculture Department at Hamilton High School. In addition to raising 11 children she also owned and operated Marita Catering with her sister, Mary, and helped countless people celebrate special occasions with her wedding and birthday cakes. Rita was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hamilton, and the church Altar Society.

She married Linus Orr (Bill) Chadwick at 9 a.m., on Wednesday, June 4, 1947, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bill preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her brothers-Richard Curp and John Curp; sisters-Mary Gibson, Rose Lee Walker, and Helen Roling.

Survivors include her sister, Lois Pihart, Rochester, MN; and children, Daniel (Kate) Chadwick, Hamilton; Richard (Sally) Chadwick, Surprise, AZ; Cathy (Bob) Sexauer, Clinton, MO; James (Karen) Chadwick, Cameron; Anne (John) Watters, Springfield, MO; Robert (Sheryl) Chadwick, Bonner Springs, KS; Jane (Lynn) Kavanaugh, Hamilton; Julie (Mark) Adams, Liberty, MO; Laurie (Mark) Entrup, Springfield, MO; Mary (Harold) Van Dyke, Linneus, MO; and Joseph (Julie) Chadwick, Hamilton. Additionally she is survived by 40 grandchildren (and 24 spouses), 67 great-grandchildren (and 1 spouse), 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hamilton.

Formal Visitation: 6 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Hamilton Methodist Church Family Life Center, Hamilton.

Interment: Kenney Cemetery, Kidder, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children's Mercy Hospital, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or a charity of your choice in Rita's memory.

Friends may call at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, on Friday, March 1, from 9 a.m., until 4:00 p.m.
