Ronnie Ray Puckett, 83, Hamilton, MO., passed away on May 15, 2026, at the Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, MO.
Ronnie was born at home on the family farm on June 27, 1942, to Vaughn and Leona (Abbott) Puckett. He lived in the New York Community, southeast of Hamilton, his entire life.
On June 13, 1965, he married Shirlee Williams at St. Columban Catholic Church in Chillicothe, MO. They have been married for 60 years and she survives of the home.
Ronnie was a lifelong farmer in livestock and row crop. Ronnie painted farm equipment for dealerships and eventually switched over to painting barns, churches, houses and he soon acquired the nickname "housepainter" as a CB handle. He was an avid hunter as well as enjoying fishing. Ronnie invented and patented the "Strike Lite" fishing light. He was a charter member of the Hamilton Jaycees and helped raise funds, schedule and put on tractor pulls in surrounding areas. Ronnie also pulled a tractor himself for competition. He built large-scale radio controlled airplanes and flew them for enjoyment. Ronnie enjoyed his work and hobbies but before the day started or it was time for an afternoon break, you could find Ronnie at the local coffee shop where he enjoyed spending time with his coffee shop buddies.
Preceding Ronnie in death were his parents, Vaughn and Leona; brother, Raymond Puckett; and sister-in-law, Mary Puckett.
Additional survivors include his children-Steven (Gena) Puckett, Stewartsville, MO; and Phillip (Allyson) Puckett, Hamilton, MO; 5 grandchildren-Jesse (Sammy Jo) Puckett; Waylon (Jakolbie) Puckett, both of Hamilton, MO; Ashton (Michael) Atkins, St. Joseph, MO.; Bailey (Tomohisa) Tsukamoto, Japan; and Cydney Puckett, Stewartsville, MO.; 4 great-grandchildren-Russell Puckett, Hamilton; Wilder Atkins, Isaiah Atkins and Irie Atkins, all of St. Joseph; and two great-grandchildren coming soon in 2026 (1 in Hamilton and 1 in Japan); brother-Charles Puckett; sister-in-law-Darlene Puckett; and nephews-James Puckett and Gary Puckett, all of Hamilton.
Funeral Service: 2 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, MO.
Visitation: 1 hour prior to the funeral on Thursday, May 21, from 1 to 2 p.m.
Interment: Highland Cemetery, Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 20, from noon until 5 p.m.
