Governor Kasich

To my chagrin I have learned that Ohio's governor John Kasich signed a bill on Feb. 21, 2016 de-funding Planned Parenthood. When I wrote last week's letter, I was not aware of this action. No government funds in Ohio pay for abortions. By providing contraceptive services to poor and underserved women, Planned Parenthood is actually in the business of preventing unwanted pregnancies and thereby reducing the number of abortions. 

Governor Kasich may be acting politically to gain more support from conservative voters but he will, in so doing, ignore the needs of Ohio women. I understand Donald Trump supports Panned Parenthood. On many other issues he is not a suitable candidate, but I concede he is right on this one. I'll stick to supporting either Bernie or Hillary.
