No Free Ham Sandwich

Fellow Americans,

Lately I’ve been hearing lots of bunk from Hillary “Rotten” Clinton and “Burned-out” Bernie Sanders regarding socialism. They recently went head-to-head in a debate where they pandered for votes by promising to out-give each other! These two super-generous people said that if elected, they would give free education, food, healthcare, and housing to everyone! They insisted these were basic human rights which every government should provide its people. As usual, they failed to discuss the cost of this utopia, which always hits the working class the hardest.

The politicians never mentioned the 70-90% tax rate of socialist countries, or the thousands of people who died while waiting for medication or treatment, or the lack of individual liberty like freedom of expression and civil rights. As my high school civics teacher, Coach Mullins, used to say, “There’s no such thing as a free ham sandwich.” In other words, government freebies cost all of us in increased taxes and decreased individual liberty. The bottom line is this: Socialism will fail wherever it is tried. If you try it in the desert, you soon will have a shortage of sand because the government does not create, it consumes!

Looking beyond cost, it is not the government’s duty to provide everything to us. Our Declaration of Independence explains the purpose of the federal government is to protect our unalienable (God-given) rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. These rights extend to every American citizen, born and unborn. Contrary to popular belief, they exclude anyone here illegally! Our Constitution very specifically describes what the federal government can and cannot do. These restrictions aggravate liberal politicians, who enjoy buying votes with freebies at our expense! You see, if politicians can get us hooked on freebies, then we will be forced to come crawling to them for whatever we need. That will ensure their CONTROL over us!

Friends, please don’t fall for the government’s lure of easy money or freebies. If capitalism is so bad, why are millions of people from all over the world coming to America instead of going to China, North Korea, Venezuela, or Cuba? Do yourself a favor and listen to talk radio on 680 and 980 on the am dial and enjoy!
